Reflections and Blog Discussion

Posted by Dr. Myrta L. Rosa on February 2, 2007

As your syllabus shows, you are required to write five reflections for this class.  These reflections must be based on the five guide questions I am providing for this purpose.  Each reflection is worth 20 points and should be no less than 250 words turned in typed, double-spaced, with one-inch margins all around and with a cover that includes your name, student number, class & section, reflection number, and a title of your own.

As for the blog entries, I have also provided you with a list of blog discussion threads.  However, you need to wait until I start the thread before you post your comments.  These contributions to the blog are worth 10 points each and should reflect your individual ideas, opinions, and feelings.

Hello students!

Welcome to the class blog!  This is the place where we will all share our opinions and points of view regarding the assigned readings.  It is simple to use.  I will post a question or thought and you will react to what I said with your own ideas.  Each student has to post at least 1 comment for each question I post to satify the requirements of the class, but feel free to continue to post comments if you want to address a certain issue that is already being discussed or that you want to start discussing.  It is also acceptable to express doubts and ask questions to get help from others in the discussions.

I should warn you, most of the time I like to play devil’s advocate–which means my postings won’t contain my own ideas–I will write controversial things in order to get you thinking and commenting on the possibilities.  You’re encouraged to disagree with me and/or anyone else, as long as you can explain why you disagree.

Posting your comment is easy, click on the word comment and fill in the boxes with the appropriate information.  Please use your full name when posting since this will be part of your grade and any anonymous postings will simply be deleted.
